What is a Flash Programmer and why do I need one?
A Flash Programmer (AKA Flash Tuner) is a device that will immediately increase the horse power, torque and fuel economy for your vehicle. You choose the type of tune based on the type of performance you desire. Tunes can be switched at any time in a matter of minutes. This includes returning the vehicle to the stock tune, making it 100% reversible. Plus, the tunes can be adjusted in many ways for modifications and your personal preferences.

Adjustable Options
*Adjustable Options vary for each vehicle and are not available on all vehicles

Octane Based Tunes Gas vehicle's preloaded tunes vary Performance levels by octane. For example, 3 preloaded tunes may indicate an 87 octane tune, 91 octane tune and 93 octane tune. Premium fuel will provide the best performance increase over stock.
Axle Ratio Set the axle ratio to correct shift patterns and speedometer.
Tire Size Set the tire size to correct shift patterns and speedometer.
Idle Speed Sets Idle speed in RPM.
Traction Control On/Off setting disables traction control without using the TCS button.
WOT Shift Increase or Decrease the WOT shift points of each gear individually by MPH.
Shift Pressure % change in transmission pressure during shifts. (+ equals firmer, - equals softer)
Global Spark Add or remove timing advance to the entire RPM range.
Spark by RPM Add or remove timing by RPM range. (0-2000) (2000-4000) (4000-8000)
WOT Fuel Add or remove fuel at wide open throttle. (WOT)
Fuel Injectors Allows you to adjust for different sized injectors.
Fan Control Lowers the temperature at which the fan turns on.
Rev Limiter Drive Sets rev limit in RPM while in drive.
Rev Limiter Neutral Sets rev limit in RPM while in neutral.
Speed Limiter Remove, Increase or Decrease the vehicles speed limiter. (aka governor)

SCT tuning devices will not modify or delete vehicle emissions. SCT products purchased comply with the Clean Air Act. Tunes that are preloaded in SCT devices have gone through hours of testing to ensure the safety of the drivers and the environment overall. Custom tuners are required to follow the guidelines of the Clean Air Act as they develop their own tunes for SCT devices.

Per Civil Action No. 1:18-cv-2201 Case 1:18-cv-02201 - The settlement (or Consent Decree) provides a path for compliance to allow the continued sale, purchase and use of Derive’s products.

  • When I try to update my tuner, it says “Please connect SCT device” but it’s already plugged in.
    • This is an issue with your PC’s driver software. See SCT's knowledge base at: https://sctflash.com/sct-support/ or contact an MPT Expert for assistance.

  • When I connect the tuner to the vehicle, it doesn’t power on.
    • Check for blown fuses specific to the OBDII port for your vehicle.

  • Does the tuner have to stay plugged in to keep the vehicle tuned?
    • No, after tuning the vehicle you can disconnect the programmer and store it.

  • Can I stack/combine the X4 with another chip or tuning module?
    • All chips/tuning products must be removed prior to tuning with any SCT device.

  • Can I tune more than one vehicle with this programmer?
    • Yes, but only one vehicle may be tuned at a time and you MUST return the vehicle to the stock to before tuning another vehicle. Please note, there is a limit to how many times you can change vehicles (5). Each time the tuner programs a different vehicle, an unlock is used. This includes using it on a vehicle that had been previously tuned by the device.

  • Can the vehicle be tuned while the engine is running?
    • It is not recommended to tune the vehicle while the engine is running as this can cause severe damage to the vehicle and the PCM.

  • Should I return to stock before taking my car to the dealer?
    • It is recommended that you always return your vehicle to stock before returning to the dealership as this prevents the tuner from becoming locked if the dealer updates the PCM.

  • My device is telling me my car is a Shelby GT500 when I go to program vehicle or My device says Demo Mode when I read Device Info.
    • Check device settings and look for Demo Mode. If it is on disable it by turning it to off. This will cause the device to stop identifying your vehicle as a Shelby GT500 and will now operate as needed.

  • My vehicle is modified and I loaded a preloaded tune. Now it won’t run as expected.
    • In most cases a modified vehicle requires a custom tune. There are set ups in the preloaded tune options to adapt to certain cold air intakes, however this is per vehicle and what works for one vehicle may not work on another. Please contact an MPT Expert for more information, if your vehicle is heavily modified.

  • I keep getting error code 110AF/110AE. The device tells me to update my device, but it is already up to date.
    • You need to read vehicle info and write down your ECU Strategy/ECM OS Part Number. After you’ve read vehicle info you need to go to your computer and update the device using SCT Device Updater to download the additional files needed to tune your vehicle.

  • What is the difference between an unlock and a reset?
    • An Unlock is required when a device is “Locked/Married” to a vehicle that is no longer available. A Reset is needed when you have exceeded the “5 unlocks” on the device. If your device requires either an Unlock or Reset, contact an MPT Expert or SCT directly at https://sctflash.com/sct-support/.

  • I brought my vehicle to get work done at a dealership and they flashed the vehicle now the device is telling me it is the incorrect vehicle.

Shipping Policy

MPT is proud to offer free shipping on most orders over $149.

  • Free shipping applies only to the contiguous United States. Shipping and handling charges will apply to orders outside the contiguous US, and the buyer is responsible for any duty fees or taxes their home country may charge to import goods.
  • With free shipping, we will choose the best shipping method for your order. We use all major carriers, including USPS, FedEx, UPS, and DHL.

Turnaround Times:

  • MPT Tunes have a standard turnaround time of 2-3 business days, beginning once we receive your MPT Tune Form.
  • We do not process orders on weekends or observed holidays, which do not count as business days.
  • Physical items that are in stock at MPT and ordered by 4PM EST will be shipped the same day. Orders placed after 4PM EST will be processed on the following business day.

Special Considerations:

  • Items not stocked at our location will follow the same processing times but may experience lead-time delays and could incur additional charges. Shipping methods may vary for these items based on what was paid and the requested delivery speed. If you need an item by a specific deadline, please contact an MPT Expert.
  • SCT Tuner Orders with the Prioritized Order option must have their tune forms submitted by 3PM EST to be completed the same day. Forms submitted after this time will be processed the next business day.
  • Orders will ship to the billing address listed on your order. If paying by credit or debit card, we can only ship to the billing address. Contact an MPT Expert for assistance if you need a different shipping address.

MPT Performance Returns and Refund Policy

  • A Return Authorization Number (RA #) is required for all returns. Please contact an MPT Expert to obtain an RA# before sending anything back.
  • MPT tuning charges and license fees are non-refundable. The sale is final once MPT has sent the tune file via email, which applies to both new tune purchases and tune updates.

Returnable Products:

  • Products (other than MPT Tunes) may be returned within 30 days as long as they have not been installed and are in brand new, unused condition with original packaging. Installed products are non-refundable. MPT reserves the right to deny a return if the product shows signs of installation or damage.
  • Vehicle programmers/tuners that have loaded a tune onto a vehicle cannot be returned.

Refund Amounts:

  • Returns postmarked within 15 days of receipt will be refunded the purchase price minus the shipping cost MPT paid.
  • Returns postmarked between 16 and 30 days will be refunded the purchase price minus a 25% restocking fee and the shipping cost.
  • After 30 days, all sales are final.

Non-Refundable Items:

  • Shipping charges and any package insurance are non-refundable. If free shipping was applied to your purchase, the actual shipping cost will be subtracted from your refund.
  • HP Tuners Credits are non-refundable once they’ve been assigned to a device’s serial number, which occurs either during the purchase or upon completing the tune form.
  • Digital products like SCT Tuner Unlocks, HP Tuners Credits, or MPT Tunes cannot be refunded.
  • Decals/Stickers are non-refundable once received by the customer.

Thanks MPT for waking my truck up

After throwing some larger tires on my 2019 Ford F150 5.0L, the truck felt a little sluggish. After many months of research and planning for what I want my truck to look like and perform like. I chose the SCT tuner with the MPT AAA (Alpha Auto Adapt) tune. The amount of knowledge they have and options they have for everything blew the competition away. After the MPT Tune, my trucks performance is now way better than the stock setup and the throttle response being increased makes it the best option. Got rid of the auto start/stop and have gained significant horsepower. I have experimented with many octanes and looking to start making mixes. Thanks MPT for waking my truck up. The sct tuner with the MPT AAA tune is working amazingly.

2016 F150 MPT tune delivered over email, applied via SCT Tuner. Follow update instructions, connect to ECU (Truck Computer) read original programming. Then send your Tune! :-)

DBX tuner Review with performance tunes

This tuner with the two mpt tunes I got is amazing. On the tuner I'm able to see allot of information about my truck and info I don't even understand. Flashing the tunes was easy and uploading them from my computer to the DBX tuner was very simple also. Customer support was also great and very helpful and actually seemed like they were happy when I called and told them how impressed I was. For the tunes themselves I got the 89(or 87 I don't remember whatever the lowest octane tune was) and the 93 prx tunes. The way the transmission has been changed with the tune is great. When I floor it I'm able to rev it out between each shift and the shifts are hard. It's like I was shoved into a box and thrown off a cliff. This tune makes it so my truck pulls and keeps pulling. Starting in first gear from a dig with my ko2 tires and flooring it causes me to lose traction and with advanced track off I smoke em. It's impossible to fully describe a full acceleration but I'll try. The shift from first to second is violent and the truck pulls hard. The tune allows the coyote under the hood to really shine up top on the rev range and my exhaust screams. I end up being way over the speed limit before I'm in 3rd gear and by the end of 3rd I'm in go to jail speeds. Surprisingly my gas mileage has also increased just a tad as well. This is on both the 89 and 93 tunes. I'd say there isn't much of a noticeable difference between the two but I've also spent most of my time on the 93 tune. I've also noticed that if I'm cruising at around 40 mph and drop it into 2nd the truck makes allot of burbling cracks pops and all those fun noises but I'm unsure if that's related. Overall this was definitely worth the money and I love the way my truck preforms with these upgrades money more than well spent. If you are on the edge about getting this product just do it. Life too short and there is no reason to not have fun with this tuner on your way out.

The SCT BDX paired with the 93 PR-X and the 93 Performance Daily/Tow Tunes are absolutely worth every penny!! Ross has been extremely helpful with any questions I've had. Highly Recommend MPT!!!!
