  4. Claim the MPT Tunes: If you purchased the Prioritized Order Upgrade, move right to submitting an MPT Tune Form. This form is mandatory and has to be submitted by 3pm EST for the tunes to be built and loaded to the tuner for Same-day Shipping.

    Otherwise, sit tight until the SCT BDX reaches you. It'll come with instructions that explain what to do next.

After You Buy Notes

Claiming The Tunes:

  • If you purchased the Prioritized Order Upgrade, submit the MPT Tune Form immediately after your purchase is complete.
  • If you purchased the Rush My Tunes or chose standard turnaround, you'll submit the tune form once you receive the BDX in the mail. 

Tune Turnaround Time: 

Standard: Tunes are created in 3 business days.

Your tunes will be emailed to you, along with detailed instructions. If you'd like to have them sent over wifi via the cloud, let us know on your tune form. We'll still email you backup copies to have.

Rush My Tunes: Need it faster? If you grabbed the Rush My Tunes option, we'll get them done in 24 hours (on business days). You can even add this upgrade after your purchase if you decide you don’t want to wait. 

Prioritized Order Upgrade: Tunes are completed and loaded onto your tuner before it ships with Same-day Shipping.

Same-day shipping: Orders placed by 4pm EST on business days ship the same day. Orders after 4pm will ship the next business day.

We also send a backup of your tunes when you opt for the Prioritized Order Upgrade.

Shipping Policy

MPT is proud to offer free shipping on most orders over $149.

  • Free shipping applies only to the contiguous United States. Shipping and handling charges will apply to orders outside the contiguous US, and the buyer is responsible for any duty fees or taxes their home country may charge to import goods.
  • With free shipping, we will choose the best shipping method for your order. We use all major carriers, including USPS, FedEx, UPS, and DHL.

Turnaround Times:

  • MPT Tunes have a standard turnaround time of 2-3 business days, beginning once we receive your MPT Tune Form.
  • We do not process orders on weekends or observed holidays, which do not count as business days.
  • Physical items that are in stock at MPT and ordered by 4PM EST will be shipped the same day. Orders placed after 4PM EST will be processed on the following business day.

Special Considerations:

  • Items not stocked at our location will follow the same processing times but may experience lead-time delays and could incur additional charges. Shipping methods may vary for these items based on what was paid and the requested delivery speed. If you need an item by a specific deadline, please contact an MPT Expert.
  • SCT Tuner Orders with the Prioritized Order option must have their tune forms submitted by 3PM EST to be completed the same day. Forms submitted after this time will be processed the next business day.
  • Orders will ship to the billing address listed on your order. If paying by credit or debit card, we can only ship to the billing address. Contact an MPT Expert for assistance if you need a different shipping address.

MPT Performance Returns and Refund Policy

A Return Authorization Number is required for all returns. Please contact an MPT Expert to obtain an RA # before sending anything back to us for any reason.

MPT tuning charges and license fees are Non-Refundable. The sale is final when MPT has sent the tune file over email. This includes both new tune purchases and tune updates.

Products other than MPT tunes, digital products, and MPT decals may be returned within 30 days for any reason, provided that the product has not been installed and is in brand new, unused condition with the original packaging. Once a product has been installed it is non-refundable. We reserve the right to deny the return, should the product be received and it display signs of installation or unmentioned damage.

For vehicle programmers/tuners, the vehicle must be returned to stock if a program was installed. If a tuning device is returned and has not been returned to stock, a refund will not be issued, and your tuner will not be sent back without a shipping and handling fee.

The customer is responsible for all shipping charges incurred during the return process.

Amount Refunded:
•Returns post marked before 30 days from the date the item was received will be refunded the purchase price, minus a 25% restocking fee and the cost of shipping.
•After 30 days, all sales are Final.
•Shipping charges along with any package insurance are non-refundable. If your purchase was shipped with our Free Shipping option, the cost of the shipping will be subtracted from the total refund amount.

HP Tuners Credits are assigned to the HP Tuners product with the submitted serial number and cannot be transferred. Once you load a tune to your vehicle with the RTD, these credits are Non-Refundable.

Digital products and files that have no ability to be taken back physically, such as an SCT Tuner Unlock, are Non-Refundable.

nGauge Tune License Fee is included in your initial purchase of MPT tunes for the nGauge. This fee is factored into the price of the tunes and becomes Non-Refundable when the stock file has been emailed to MPT.

MPT Decals are Non-Refundable, once they have been received by the customer.

What MPT tunes are available for Naturally Aspirated Fords?

MPT PR-X Tune

Available for E-85, E-50, E-30, 93 Octane, 91 Octane and 87 Octane

This is the Max Power Tune. PR-X, also known as Performance Race X-treme, is our top-performance tune for NA Fords. (Read More)

On 93 octane, this provides significant gain over stock to the wheels. On E85, the gains can be far more. That part depends more on the truck and setup.

This is by far the preferred tune on this truck due to the ridiculous power gains over stock. The truck feels so much lighter with the increased throttle response.

With this tune you are looking at huge increases in low end torque and acceleration, faster 0-60 times, quicker 1/4 mile results, shift points optimized with a focus on performance.

The shift points in normal mode will hit all gears, with downshifts tightened up putting you in the right gear at the right time. This means power to the wheels when the driver demands it.

Sport Mode and Tow Haul mode retain most all of the positive features from Ford with minor tweaks to improve over all feel.

What about drive modes?

First of all, all driving modes are retained. We do some MPT specific changes to each individual mode. Normal drive mode gets an impressive boost in throttle response and feel, but click to Sport mode and this improvement is multiplied. Sport mode has a noticeable increase in throttle response above that of the already increased base mode.

Available with both MPT Transmission Tuning (No Extra Charge) or Factory OEM Transmission Tuning. This tune has all the benefits of the above PR-X but has the trans setup very mild for those that prefer the stock feeling shifts of the truck.

Please Note:We do not recommend towing with the PR-X tune installed. All towing or hauling must be done with a Daily-Tow Tune or after returning to the stock tune

MPT Daily-Tow Tune

Available for E-85, E-50, E-30, 93 Octane, 91 Octane and 87 Octane (F-150's only)

Daily-Tow is our performance/towing hybrid tune for Ford Trucks. (Read More)

The Daily-Tow tune is a step down from PR-X. Designed to be a performance tune and a towing tune hybrid. Power is lower than PR-X but we were able to keep most of the improvements from PR-X. Throttle response is still a drastic improvement over stock. This tune can be referred to as the "Street" or "Daily Driver" tune with a focus on all around performance but not so much that it is no longer a good idea to tow with it.

Available with both MPT Transmission Tuning (No Extra Charge) or OEM Factory Shifting. This tune has all the benefits of the above Daily-Tow tune above but has the trans setup very mild for those that prefer the stock feeling shifts of the truck.

MPT Adaptive Any Octane Auto Adjust Tune

This tune can be used with any octane fuel, the concept behind this tune is to take the improved shifting and performance of the PR-X tune but rather than focusing on one specific power level and making it the best, this tune expands on the Ford factory auto adjust features. Detecting the level of octane fuel in the tank and adjusting desired power output on the fly. There will be a noticeable difference but definitely not as much as PR-X or Daily-Tow tunes. Throttle response and part throttle acceleration will still have a noticeable increase over stock.

Available with both MPT Transmission Tuning (No Extra Charge) or No Trans Tuning. This tune has all the benefits of the above tune above but has the trans setup very mild for those that prefer the stock feeling shifts of the truck.

E85 only comptible with this tune on flex fuel vehicles.

MPT Perf-Econ Tune

Available for E-85, 93 Octane, 91 Octane and 87 Octane

The Perf-Econ tune, also known as Performance Economy Hybrid is a blend of low end fuel economy and top end power. This tune keeps the closed pedal and very low throttle positions controlled to make sure fuel economy is optimized. Then it also has improvements on power and throttle response at higher pedal positions. Shifting is setup to be basically stock which means higher gears at low rpms and vehicle speeds. Great tune for those that want the option for power but don't want it full time.

Fuel Octane Matters

Gas vehicle tunes are heavily impacted by the octane of fuel being used. If you want power, run higher octane.

Running a higher octane allows us to advance the spark more which results in better performance. That being said, you should pick tunes for the octane you plan on running. If you always have and always will run 87-89 octane, then that is what you should choose. You can run a tune for 87-89 octane and fill the tank with 93, however you cannot run a tune for 93 octane and fill up with 87-89. Doing so will result in knock activity, a loss of power output and in rare cases, possible engine damage. Our recommendation for performance tunes is to run the highest octane available. This is especially important on a turbo vehicle.

The E30 and E50 versions of tunes are designed to be used with a mixture of E85 and premium fuel. Combined mixture can be up to E50.

Full E85 can be used in the F-150 5.4L and 5.0L without any upgrades. Tuning is required to use E85 with a Mustang 3.7L.

What about the vehicle's stock tune? Can I go back to it or is it lost?

Yes, you can go back to the stock tune at any time.

The tuner itself will save a copy of your stock file that you can revert back to. Instructions on how to return to stock can be found in our Tech Support section.

•Why would I need more than 1 tune?
One MPT Tune is a game-changer, but having multiple gives you the ultimate flexibility to handle any situation.

Higher octane means more power, plain and simple. But here’s the catch—not all gas stations carry the same octane levels. Some areas have 93 readily available, while others top out at 91 or even just 87. If your tune is built for higher octane and you can’t find it on a road trip, you’ll need a backup. That’s where multiple tunes come in handy.

Want max power? Go with the PR-X tune. Need something for towing or daily driving? The Daily-Tow tune has you covered.

Decide if you want MPT’s specialized transmission tuning applied—at no extra cost. Smoother shifts, better response, and perfect integration with your new power. Why wouldn’t you want that?

With MPT, you don’t get a generic set of tunes—you get a lineup built specifically for your vehicle, your fuel, and your driving style. Mix, match, and make it yours!

•What 3 MPT Tunes do I get in this bundle?

Purching the 3-tune pack does not mean a generic pack of tunes is automatically sent to every customer. The multi-tune purchase is simply a placeholder for the number of custom tunes you want.

When you submit the MPT Tune Form, you’ll choose exactly which tunes you want based on your setup and needs, including things like fuel octane, tune type, and transmission tuning.

For example, a 3-tune purchase could be:
  • 93 PR-X
  • 93 Daily-Tow
  • 87 Daily-Tow

This setup gives you the flexibility to choose the tune combinations that make the most sense for your truck, rather than getting a one-size-fits-all tune pack.

•I have a 15-17 5.0L / 04-10 5.4L, why can't you preload my tunes?

With select models, a few details are needed from the vehicle before the tunes can be built. The BDX is needed to obtain that information.

•How do I tell you what tunes I want and my mods?

You will submit an MPT Tune Form to complete this.

When you submit this form will vary based on your purchase.
  • If you are buying the bundle with the Prioritized Order Upgrade, you'll submit a form immediately after your purchase is complete.
  • If you are buying the bundle with the Rush My Tunes option or with standard turnaround time, you'll wait until you receive the tuner in the mail. It will come with instructions telling you what needs to be completed before submitting the tune form.
