170 Degree Performance Thermostat - Reische RP-FORD-50

My well maintained truck was consistently running engine temps of up to 223 degrees. After installing the 170 thermostat as recommended by MPT, I haven't seen anything above 196 degrees on the engine, and the transmission has seen lower temps of 25 to 30 degrees. Impressive, and very happy!

It helped me reduce the engine oil and transmission fluid temperatures. In the city, the temperature is lower than usual, and in rood highways, the temperature is even lower, resulting in better engine and transmission fluid temperature, improved engine performance, and better torque.

Love the product, I bought a supposedly 170 degree thermostat from Auto Zone and installed it and there’s no way that’s what it was even tho it said 170 on it after my tuner adjusted the fan temp the fans stayed on all the time and really did not stay any cooler. So I ordered this one from MPT and installed it was much better quality that’s for sure and now my truck runs around 15 to 20 degrees cooler and the fans are not running constantly. Thank you for the great product and fast shipping.

Even running a hot E85 tune this item keeps things cool in all conditions.

Data logs of my 2011 F150 revealed cylinder head temperatures that were higher than I was accustomed to. These temps ranged as high as +250 degrees when the truck was under load. Having minimal experience with turbo charged engines, I spent some time researching and found this temperature is not awful but my reasoning suggested consistently high temps would reduce the life of the engine. I purchased and installed the Reische 170 degree thermostat and saw a 20 degree drop in the cylinder head temperature immediately. We have now modified the tune in the truck according to this lower temperature and are very pleased with the results.

Bought two of these 170* thermostats, one for my truck and one for the shelf at my shop. Installed mine and it works great! Cylinder Head Temp (CHT) stays between 174*-180* when driving or with fan running even in the recent 98* temps we've had here on the east coast. Highly recommend it for those in the market.

My ecoboost f-150 would go into limp mode if I was running it very hard in warm weather. I assumed it was the oil temperature causing the limp mode. I bought this thermostat and it came with new tunes for my tuner I purchased from MPT, the truck runs excellent and has never gone into limp mode since. And I run it hard. I would very much so recommend the products and service from MPT.

Easy installation, and great quality. Keeps the coolant temp under 200* with the custom tunes I have on the truck from MPT.

I have been selling auto parts for over a decade, I have seen many cheap thermostats in the aftermarket world, even with name brand companies. However, that does not seem to be the case with this product seems very solid and well built. I did not test its performance before installing nor do I know if there are any true gains. I do know that they recommend this, its the cheapest mod that you can make, and its easy to install (even came with very good generic instructions).
