Catch Cans & Oil Separators

We own, drive and tune our own vehicles. Some tuners out there don't have a shop, don't own a dyno, don't pick up the phone and don't even drive Ford Vehicles. Ask yourself how they test and develop tunes.
My name is Mike Thornhill, I'm the owner here at MPT. We've been tuning Fords for more than 15 years now. This is what we do, day in and day out. Tuning and performance is our specialty. I know some people might be new to tuning and may even think it's snake oil. I can tell you after one minute of driving, you will know the MPT difference is very real. I encourage you to read reviews, browse this site and don't hesitate to contact us for any questions you may have. Thanks for checking us out. // Mike @ MPT
We highly recommend catch-cans. An oil catch can is used to filter and catch the excess oil before recirculation. In the boosted world, blow by is super common. The issue is the blow by brings in gunk into the combustion chamber, which can pretty much affect the octane rating. We've seen excessive blow by cause misfires and lack of performance. The goal of a catch-can is to prevent oil mist or vapors from reaching the crankcase. Blow-by is defined as the loss of compression as it leaks past the piston rings into the crankcase. Oil catch cans can help prevent the loss of horsepower in your vehicle. A properly set up oil catch can will reduce the amount of oil vapors that are re-circulated into the intake of your engine.
